PANAAH, the annual intercollegiate festival of K.P.B Hinduja College of Commerce is organizing its social event, "GULF PRIDE SAFETY RIDE" on December 9, 2017 at K.P.B Hinduja College from 8:30 am. The main motive of this event is ‘Road Safety and the use of helmet’.

The recent road accidents are majorly due to not wearing helmets while driving. To minimize the number of accidents, we are organising this rally which will help us educate the citizens regarding safety measures and precautions. This will also inculcate the habit of using helmets.

It is a 12 km rally that will include 250 professional bikers from colleges across the city. The rally will be starting from K.P.B Hinduja College of Commerce covering Charni Road and Nariman Point, ending at K.P.B Hinduja College itself. The bikers will be wearing helmets and will follow the route with full security.

To encourage the use of helmets among bikers, Panaah’s CSR Partner-Gulf Oil Lubricants India Ltd. will distribute 250 helmets to the participants of the rally.

The Chief Guest for this event is Shri Diwakar Raote Ji, Transport Minister of Maharashtra State.

Ravi Chawla, the Managing Director of GULF Oil will be the Guest of honor for  the event. Lisa Sadanah, the helmet girl is a special invitee and Abhinav Shukla is the Guest of honor as well.

Mumbai, November 29, 2017…Leading Bollywood personalities Hema Malini and Madhur Bhandarkar announced today, the launch of “ONE FOR ALL , ALL FOR ONE”, a Tribute and salute to Indian Army, a one-of-its-kind noble event by ATHARVA FOUNDATION to be held on 31^st January 2018 at NSCI, Worli. The event has been envisaged and conceptualized by Shri. Sunil Rane, Chairman Atharva Foundation. Atharva Foundation, the brain child of SHRI. SUNIL RANE,one of the most active NGOs, works at the grass-root level in India to bring about a positive change in the lives of the less fortunate people of India.

Atharva foundation is all set to welcome the ‘Real unsung Heroes’ of the country by organizing a program named “ONE FOR ALL| ALL FOR ONE”. Foundation believes that the growth of a nation depends on the growth of the various sections of its society. This noble thought has lead to flourish itself in every aspect. With the same vision, Atharva foundation is taking a new step to recognize and felicitate Indian soldiers, who are always ready to sacrifice their lives for the nation so that the citizens can have peaceful nights, through this program. A great example of selfless service and brotherhood, and above all, love for the country is what the Indian Army is all about.

While commenting on the event, Shri. Sunil Rane, Chairman, Atharva Foundation said, “With strength of over 1.4 million active personnel, Indian Armed Force is the world’s 2nd largest military force and has the world's largest volunteer army.ONE FOR ALL |, ALL FOR ONE is a tribute to those soldiers who have never been recognized for their sacrifice. This initiative is an opportunity for all of us to come together and show the armed forces our respect and deep gratitude. Atharva Foundation will be felicitating these real heroes by unfolding 10 untold stories of bravery and valour in the presence of eminent personalities such as market players, politicians, renowned faces from Bollywood, sports personalities, senior personnel of armed and police forces. The program will be held on 31^st of January 2018 at the Dome, NSCI, Worli with over 25000 people attending the program alongwith 5000 families of soldiers. It’s time to come together as one and salute the real heroes of our nation and give them due recognition and respect. This program seeks to raise awareness among the youth about the armed forces and their supreme sacrifice. It aims to inspire young people to take pride in these brave men and follow their path to serve their country.”

Shri. Sunil Rane further added that “Atharva Foundation has done tremendous work to help families of martyrs. We plan to provide education and sports funds to families of martyrs so that their children and families can take advantage from this financial help for their better future.”

CONCEPT -From the foothills of the Himalayas to the backwaters in Kerala, from the desert plains in Rajasthan to the delta in West Bengal, thousands of soldiers come together for just one mission - giving themselves to our motherland. On January 31^st ,2018, Atharva Foundation will reveal the untold stories of 10 such brave hearts from regiments and battalions across India. The objective is to gather everyone together and to give them the recognition they truly deserve.

PURPOSE -It is only because they are awake that we sleep soundly at night. It is because they stand in the freezing cold, suffer the wrath of the summer sun and brave the heavy rain that we are able to lead our lives happily.This programme seeks to raise awareness among the youth about the armed forces and their supreme sacrifice. It aims to inspire young people to take pride in these brave men and follow their path to serve their country.

PROGRAM-Ten celebrities -- prominent names from the entertainment and business world -- will bring to life the inspirational and moving stories of these ten soldiers through their recitations, which will be accompanied by a video film on each soldier. With patriotic songs resounding throughout the auditorium, each heart will be filled with nothing but respect and love for India. Programme Flow will reveal 10 Untold Stories followed by cultural program by singers and dancers, there will be a short film festival, NCC Battle Drills and exhibit by Indian Armed Forces.

We, at Enlighten India, extend our warm regards and wishes to all our readers. This month, or should I say year, ends on a high note with the charming “Kunal Jai Singh” on our cover page. He is the pioneering spin-off hero of the Indian television show "Dil Boley Oberoi". Kunal talks about his successful career in "Ishqbaaaz" and the relationship he shares with his co-stars. To add to the December enchantments we have  “Manit Joura” who is high on happinesses with the much appreciated “Kundali Bhagya”. He maps his success journey and the difference between South Indian films and Hindi television. While the world is engrossed in sipping on spirits and gulping down plum cakes and gingerbread cookies, Enlighten India presents to you our cherry on the cake, we also like to call it Star Of The Month; she is none other than “Anjum Fakih”, who shares her screen space in “Kundali Bhagya”. Our customary ‘Writer’s Space’ sings the glories of “Meetu Kumar”, a director, producer, writer and catalyst who aspires to change the face of daily soaps and Indian  television. Aahān is the annual college festival of Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal’s Usha Pravin Gandhi College of Management. Being an amalgamation of Media, Management and Information Technology, it is a professional festival with a cultural aspect to it. Since its birth in 2011, Aahān has been a pursuit of excellence. Being the first ever college festival in Mumbai to host an event like ‘Night Football’ and receive international participation in their flagship events like the ‘International Short Film’ and ‘Online Photography Event’, Aahān has set a benchmark for every other college festival. With a flagship P.R campaign in association with Incredible India, Aahān is also the first ever college to perform a flashmob at the International and Domestic Airports of Mumbai. This year, in the eighth edition of Aahān , everyone is welcomed into a world of incredible fun! Do you remember going to the fair with your friends? Clowns and stilt performers all around, the mouth watering smell of popcorn and delectable sweets in the air and the most incredible rides ever seen! Shooting the darts and popping the balloons, bingeing on the tastiest dishes and dancing to the tune. The music is about to start and the lights are about to go down, so, take a seat and come relive the most fun fair ever at Aahān 2018 ‘Karwaan’ on January 8^th, 9^th and 10^th!

This young singing sensation performed a special act of his hit songs at the Lalkaar Concert which also saw a strong lineup of artistes like Salim-Sulaiman, Farhan Akhtar, Harshdeep Kaur, Papon, Sukriti and Prakriti Kakar, at the Bandra Amphi theatre on November 21. 

NAEMD – Josh’s Student Idol and 

Mr & Ms Academia celebrates talent and beauty

                       

Mumbai Finals of Mr & Ms Academia and Student Idol was held on 5^th November 2017 at Goregaon (W).The evening was filled with stunning dance moves, nightangle voices and raw talent. Glamorous girls & boys walked the ramp with much poise and grace. The atmosphere was cheerful and the audiences were bustling with characteristic excitement.

The stage was set on fire and the contestants gave their highly energetic shots in the presence of Miss Gwen Athaide- the former Miss India, Miss Athletic, and winner of Get Gorgeous Season 5 and the honorable directors of NAEMD. Also, Miss Gwen conducted a grooming session for our MMA contestants in order to convert them from students to cordial pageant candidates.

Large number of young performers showed up at the auditions earlier in October from colleges across the city, to name few– Rizvi, St. Arnolds, St Andrews, Mahatma Phule, Vaze Kelkar, Wilson, Lord’s Universal College, Pearl Academy, etc. Judges had a tough time deciding who would make the cut for the Mumbai Finals. But definitely the contestants who qualified for it entertained and charmed the audience with their brilliant performances.   

Alluring girls and smart boys walked the ramp in their finest attires brimming with confidence and attitude. Finally, it was Mahesh Keshwala & Megna Mukherjee who grabbed the winning title for Mr & Ms Academia, while runner-up slots were taken by Vinod Muke, Vinod Poojari, Aishwariya Dikshit and Aashi Agarwal respectively. Shweta Maurya grabbed the winning title for Student Idol (female category) with her elegant kathak performance, while Sneha Bose and Kaushiki Jogleshwar were first runner ups, Meghna Sawant and Sadia Shaikh were second runner ups,  Rohit Shinde thrilled the judges with his optical illusion act  and won the Student Idol (male Category). Manjunath Gowli, Sebastian Gracia and Saif Shaikh , Ajay Sharma were the first and second runner ups respectively.

Mr and Ms Academia INDIA FINALISTS will undergo grooming sessions and witness pre-pageant activities, which will be conducted by some renowned industry experts such as Shakir Shaikh – training and grooming expert, one of the leading choreographer of India, Sheldon Pereira-Fashion Photographer, Surabhi Prabhu -model & actor.

At India Finale these winners will compete with the winning contestants from other cities on 15^th November’2017 at St. Andrews auditorium, Bandra [W].

When the song speeds up the tempo, it sounds very punjabi-like which enhances the danceable mood of the song. Although the song has a western touch, it is undoubtedly high on its hindi & desi feel.
