Vaswani celebrates his 99th Birthday on the 2nd of August, this issue is dedicated to his teachings and his message that is very simple - to love every living being on earth, be compassionate and never fail to practice forgiveness. Dada is regarded as one of the leading Spiritual luminaries of India and a practical philosopher whose grace has influenced thousands all over the world. A gifted writer and a brilliant orator, Dada, as he is lovingly called, has addressed distinguished audiences worldwide, communicating only as he can, the positive messages of love, faith, joy and peace. The deep holes of pain, guilt, rage and dissatisfaction move us away from the concept of peace and happiness. But this selfless saint reigns on a global stage as a spiritual teacher, humanitarian and commander and chief of peace and forgiveness through acts like the ‘Moment of Calm’. 

                                                     

Dada Vaswani continues to hold sway on the Indian social spectrum, often delivering not just inner peace to his legions of followers but also large-scale social service like the Mira Movement that pledges to educate and empower the girl child. The food was a sumptuous layout of the best that can be imagined. It was a magical feast or so it seemed with the most delicious fare laid down in the most luscious manner. The party was a gourmet lover's delight with a lovely blend of exotic cuisines; it had the best from across the land.

The star of the night Gautam Sharma said, “Birthday is a day which I think every one waits for eagerly but I didn’t have any idea that it will turn out to be my best birthday ever. All thanks to Manik Soni :) for making my birthday so special”.

Rishton Ka Chakravyuh, an unusual ‘spiteful’ story between a mother-daughter

Mumbai, 19^th July: “Of all the gifts that life has to offer, a mother is greatest of them all,” – goes the powerful saying. That’s the importance of ‘mothers’, universally, no? While they say that ‘love’ begins and ends with motherhood, would you ever imagine a mother-daughter duo who never shares an emotion of ‘love’ between them?

Transpiring on STAR Plus, Rishton Ka Chakravyuh depicts the collision between the mother Satrupa and her daughter Anami. Set amidst the royal backdrop, the show focuses on a rich industrial family residing at the majestic Lal Mahal, which is home to many conspiracies. It depicts the story of Satrupa, an authoritative woman and her daughter Anami.

This interesting duet is always at a conflict. What has driven them apart? Is it a regular family feud that would heal within a short span of time? Or is it a permanent crack that has resulted due to a spiteful history? A mother-daughter bond which is considered godly how can it ever turn so grudging?

Essayed by the multi-faceted Narayani Shastri, Satrupa is a strong willed, successful business woman. The only child of her parents, she took responsibility of her business on her shoulders at a very young age. She has sacrificed a lot in her life to reach the status she is at today, where the strings of Lal Mahal completely lay in the hands of Satrupa.

On the other side of the acrimonious relationship is a confident, defiant and free spirited Anami, played by the multi-talented Mahima Makwana. The 17 year old hailing from Benaras is quite a rebel with a Dabangg attitude! She is her own boss and makes her own decisions. A storm of the house, she always speaks up for what is right and believes in writing her own destiny. Her unusual look is what makes her stand out in the entire Lal Mahal. The fearless Anami is known for her fierce one-liners that goes like - “Hamare baare mein jyada mat sochiye dimaag blast maar dega”, and something like - “Dil ganga aur dimaag mein panga”! Despite her unconventional nature, she is a well-mannered girl who believes in her principles and is a determined soul.

An excited Narayani who will be coming back to Star Plus post Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi says, “It’s like a home coming for me with this show.” Talking about the unique ‘relationship’ that she portrays on screen with this show, she says, “As kids we all have been very close to our mothers. Especially daughters, who during their growing up age confide in their mothers. Though this is the usual case, it is quite interesting to work in a show which instead portrays the battle of the mother-daughter duo.”

Mahima, who gets to portray a Dabangg character in the show, is much elated and says, “‘Zang lohe mein lagta hai mitti mein nahi, aur hamara iraada mitti ka hai!’ such are the powerful dialogues that I get to say on the show. I am really excited to play this powerful character on the show.” She further adds, “In real life I am extremely close to my mother and I respect her a lot. But on this show I have to depict otherwise. And in the show the kind of pique I have towards my mother, Satrupa is completely opposite to a normal mother daughter relationship. Well that’s the ‘give and take’ equation of hate that we share between us. What’s also interesting is the Lal Mahal is a bed of conspiracies, wonder what deep dark secrets will erupt from beneath!” 

Apart from the unconventionally electrifying duo, the show boasts of a power-packed bunch of actors including Sangita Ghosh and Praneet Bhatt as antagonists. The show also features Anju Mahendru and Tom Alter in pivotal roles.

19th July, 2017 had the official launch of the much anticipated single "Salaam-E-Ishq" by Dj & Actor Shilpi Sharma, Arko Pravo Music director Mukhejee  & Director Aziz Zee which was hosted by Kube Lounge, Andheri. 

"It’s great that we’re able to revamp some of the old tunes. There are some beautiful melodies and lyrics and when given a modern twist, help introduce the youth to the classics,” said Dj & Actor Shilpi Sharma.

"Our single Salaam- E- Ishq opens with a fun verse and then launches into a club vibe with groovy beats. When the song speeds up, it sounds very party - like which enhances the danceable mood of the song" said Shilpi Sharma who along with Arko & Jasmine Sandlas recreated Bollywood's most iconic song, giving it her funky twist.

Arko Pravo Mukherjee, Music director of the single says “The market is flooded with remixes and other versions of old songs but there are rare pieces of work that hold a connect with the audience. With Salaam-e-ishq we want to glorify the remix trend which as of today is one of hottest upcoming trends"

Jasmine Sandlas says "The reworked, retuned version of the yesteryear’s hit will have everyone groove to the tune. Our revamped and rejuvenated version has enhanced the energy to a different level altogether."

Shilpi Sharma & Jasmine Sandlas's creative magic coupled with Arko's tremendous talent makes "Salaam-e-Ishq" one of the upcoming chartbusters of 2017. Shilpi's supreme confidence & the newness in her demeanor, Arko's aesthetic eye & Jasmine's knack for singing makes the trio a welcome addition to the star brigade.

  

Shilpi Sharma's celluloid presence & Djing skills - the best ingredients are put together to make this remix. Dj & Actor Shilpi Sharma did fairly well reprising this 1978 song, keeping the arrangement peppy, not messing with the infectious intro and introducing her own little jam section to the song. In fact, thanks to this version of the song, a lot of us were reminded of the fine little tune of this song from the film " Muqaddar Ka Sikandar"

Shot in exquisite locations of Dubai, the video of this single presents a never-seen-before avatar of Actor & Dj Shilpi Sharma flaunting her well toned body amidst stunning desert dunes & architectural marvels which make "Salaam-e-Ishq" one of the most stylized videos in a long time.

WORLD'S FIRST 24 HOUR TEA PARTY

GLOBAL ‘CEYLON TEA’ PARTY - ‘World’s First 24 Hour Tea Party’ was held at the Sri Lankan High Commission in New Delhi.

Sri Lanka’s tea industry, under the world renowned brand “Ceylon Tea”, celebrated its completion of 150 years with a unique global 24 hour tea party on 6th July at 5:00 PM in every time zone from east to west across the world.



In Delhi Sri Lankan High Commissioner H.E. Mrs. Chitraganee Wagiswara hosted the do at the Sri Lankan High Commission. From ‘The South Asian Association For Gastronomy', S.A.A.G, Maneesh Baheti and Sonali Anand and their invitees were present in full strength to be a part of this historic event.



The chief guest for the occasion was Ms. Rita A. Teaotia, Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry. Others present at the soiree included H.E. Mr. Deep Kumar Upadhyay, Ambassador Of Nepal; H.E. Maj. Gen. Vetsop Namgyel, Ambassador of Bhutan; Mr. R. K. Lenagala, Sri Lankan Deputy High Commissioner; Nirmala Paranavitana, Ayona Dissanayake, Pushpika Rathnayake, Kumudini Damyanthie amongst many others.



The evening witnessed serving of some fine Ceylon Teas and a specially created biscuit for the occasion by Maliban Biscuit Manufactories, the oldest biscuit manufacturer in Sri Lanka.
